Character Name: Captain Bishie
Secret Identity: Stephen Christopher Shang
Character Type: Hero
Species? Human with cybernetic augmentation
Superpower? Has mind control abilities...over cats. He claims he also has the power of super sexiness.
Source: Kidnapped and used in illicit experimentation by a supervillain whose identity is as-yet unknown to him. (Willing to coordinate a reveal that this is one of the game's villains, for the lulz.)
Weaknesses? While he's fairly clever at using the power of small, adorable mammals for the greater good, he doesn't always realize this is the best idea. Suggestive dancing, tight pants, and innuendo launched at villains who aren't into men are some of the weapons in his standard arsenal. Must make eye contact in order to use his mind control powers. And while his suggestive banter and good looks do pick up the occasional girl, guy, or other humanoid, he is chronically incapable of not putting his foot in his mouth. Offended ex-suitors are a regular hazard.
Costume: Power-Ranger style skintight suit in red and black, with a heart on the chest. The helmet is, of course, often removed either to mesmerize cats or (attempt to) stun humans with his astounding looks.
Motivation? Genuinely wants to help people, especially when they have little power to stop the villains' plans.
Age: 28
Job/Occupation: Systems Administrator
Hobbies: Sings and plays guitar. Looking for a band but has yet to find one that will put up with him for long. Enjoys stupid cat tricks.
History: Steve's parents are a laid-back, Buddhist Chinese-American and a driven Japanese-American businesswoman who married for the shock value it would have on her family. His parents divorced when he was 15; his sister, Melissa, was always their mother's pet so she also left when Mom took a job elsewhere. Steve chose to stay with his father, who lives in New Orange. He followed a high school sweetheart to Kettering University (Flint, MI) for college, where she cheated on him.
After moving back "home" to be near his father, he was accosted on the way out of a club one night. Drugged out of his mind, he remembers very little about what happened afterwards. He was then dumped unceremoniously in an alley, where he found that his memories of commanding a legion of kittens were not just a hallucination. At first he thought that, whatever his captor(s) wanted, he was not enough for their expectations. However, there are times when he worries that maybe it was a success, and they're biding their time before taking command of his actions somehow.
Personality: Often irritatingly cheerful, with a tendency to zero in on and completely trample over others' discomfort with that which is different. Seems to believe that he has unlimited sex appeal. Detail-oriented when it comes to problem solving, but with a tendency to go off on the wrong track of reasoning.
Physical Appearance: See icon.
Distinguishing Marks: None of note.
Clothes: Costume has already been described. Everyday civilian clothes are jeans and a t-shirt with sunglasses. Claims to wear spandex underwear.
